Editor’s Pick : Android 8.1 Oreo for Sony Xperia XZ and X
Sony previously began the rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat for Xperia X and XZ in December 2016. Some carriers started the rollout in Q1 of 2017 for the Xperia XZ flagship. So based on the Nougat rollout, we can predict the release dates of Android Oreo for Sony XZ and X devices.
As Sony already started the Oreo rollout with Xperia XZ Premium, the next device which gets the update might be Xperia XZ. So in late-November or early-December, the Japanese tech giant may initiate the Android 8.0 Oreo rollout for XZ in some regions.
Sony Xperia X and X Performance may receive the Android Oreo update in Mid-December, according to tech analysts. But Xperia X and XZ owners in the US and Canada may have to wait till January to taste the latest flavour of Android.
With 3D Creator, Xperia X and XZ users can create 3D animoji or picture within seconds and upload into social networks. The Feature is already available to Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact users and now coming to XZ with the Oreo update.
Picture in Picture mode is a major improvement to the split screen feature which was introduced with Android Nougat. With PiP, Xperia XZ users can watch any YouTube video or Video call through Whatsapp or Google Duo on the corner of the screen while browsing the web or chatting on the remaining area of screen. So Android Oreo redefines the multi-tasking user experience.
One of the great features came with Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact devices is 3D Creator. Recently, the feature arrives to Xperia XZ Premium through the Android 8.0 Oreo update. So tech analysts say that 3D Creator feature will come to Xperia XZ and possibly Xperia X via Android Oreo update.
With 3D Creator feature, users can create 3D avators and use them in social media. Users can also print the 3D Avators through 3D printers as the devices saves them in .obj which is a readable format for any 3D printer.
The 3D Creator feature doesn’t require any other hardware other than the Smart Phone. The feature scans for 15-60 secs and will create a gorgeous 3D avator which is really awesome. Users can also edit the 3D avators in their devices. More details about the 3D scanning feature will be revealed in coming days.
